More about John Korty:

I asked Mr. Korty to tell me more about himself so the non-filmmakers out there could learn more about him. I do know that his Bay Area based studio is credited with convincing George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola that the Bay Area was the place to locate themselves for their forays into the “biz” (see below). That alone is something to be proud of. Another interesting fact is that he created some animation for my childhood staple, Sesame Street. But did you all know that the NESFM displays his Bell and Howell 2709 silent-movie era hand-cranked movie camera that he made that animation with in our museum? Yes, it’s true. - Rena Dein, board member, Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum.
